Alice Marie Darst

Alice Marie Darst, 79, of Henderson, WV, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at her home surrounded by family.

She was born September 27, 1945, in Henderson, WV, a daughter of the late Thornton Levi Wood and Freda Lois (Lee) Wood.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Anthony Wayne Darst; grandson, Christian Levi Darst and sister and brother-in-law, Erewanna and Dwight Jeffrey.

Alice was a 1963 graduate of Point Pleasant High School and a homemaker and personal caregiver to her late husband Anthony.  She was a lifelong member of Concord Baptist Church in Henderson, where she served in various capacities through the years.  She was active in the Point Pleasant Senior Citizens and the Friendly 50's at Faith Gospel Church in Gallipolis Ferry, WV.

Left to cherish her wonderful memory include her son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Ginger Darst of Henderson; grandchildren, MacKenzie (Travis) Barry, Emilee Darst, Zach McGlone (Miranda Jenkins), Josh Warren and Ethan Moody; great grandchildren, Jensen Barry, Kaiden McGlone, Payton McGlone, Josiah Warren, Mercy Artis, Grace Artis, Mason Hurley and Ashe Cundiff; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois and Thomas Bumgarner of West Columbia and Beverly Hauder and Tom Weaver of Euless, TX; multiple nieces, nephews and fur child Oliver.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, WV, with Rev. Mel Mock officiating. Burial will follow at the Concord Cemetery in Henderson, WV.

Friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
