Archie A. Starcher, Sr. 83, of Gallipolis, Ohio, went to be with the Lord, Friday, November 21, 2014. He was born September 28, 1931, in Gassaway, WV, a son of the late James Andrew Starcher and Reatha (Lane) Conkle. Archie was a member of Mount Olive Church in Bidwell, OH. He served his country in the United States Army and retired from O-Kan Harbor in Gallipolis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Starcher; brothers, Junior Starcher, Stanley Starcher, Romeo McKee, Bernard McKee, and Larry McKee; and two sisters, Thelma Freeman and Marie Morrow. He is survived by his children, Linda Kay and Jimmy Sims of Gallipolis, OH, Juanita and Darres Craig of Maryville, TN, and Archie and Lora Starcher of Maryville, TN; 10 grandchildren, Shelly Sims, Andy and Angie Sims, Chad and Tina Starcher, Chandra and Nick Isgrigg, Ryan and Shondale Craig, and Renea Boyd; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Geraldine (Johnny) Freeman and Sara Flo Mayberry; and special little caretaker for three years, his poodle Muffin. A graveside service and burial will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 29, 2014, at the Centenary Cemetery in Gallipolis, OH, with James Sims officiating. Military graveside rites will be given by American Legion Post No. 23, of Point Pleasant. Arrangements are under the direction of Wilcoxen Funeral Home, in Point Pleasant.
