Betty Jean Cook, 79, of Henderson, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV.She was born August 5, 1934, a daughter of the late John F. "Fuzzy" Hoffman and Mary Luella (Wooten) Hoffman.Betty was a homemaker, and member of Church of Christ in Christian Union of Point Pleasant.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Cook Jr.; an infant sister, Rosetta Mae Hoffman; and a half-brother, Darrell Huffman.Betty is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia "Ginny" and Larry Hall of Point Pleasant, and Mary E. and Randy Blain of Point Pleasant; two sons and daughters-in-laws, John W. III and Cheryl Cook of Catawba, NC, and Rex A. and Sara Cook of Point Pleasant; and special sons, Mick Neal, and David Atkinson of Point Pleasant. Also, surviving are two sisters, Mary F. (Roger) Casto of Point Pleasant, and Inez Birchfield of Gallipolis Ferry; one brother, William F. (Anna Mae) Hoffman of Point Pleasant; a sister-in-law, Lola Huffman of Gallipolis, OH; nine grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She also loved all of her caregivers at Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Point Pleasant.A funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Alfred Holley and Ronnie Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Beale Chapel Cemetery, at Apple Grove, WV.
