Betty Jane (Forbus) Mitchell Morrow, 82, of Lafayette, Louisiana, died Monday, May 20, 2013 at Cornerstone Village in Lafayette, where Betty spent most of her adult life. She was born September 7, 1930, in Point Pleasant, WV, a daughter of the late Lloyd Golden Forbus and Freda Marie (Jacobs) Forbus. Betty was a loving daughter, sister, wife, THE BEST MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, great grandmother, and friend whose zest for life was contagious and was felt by everyone she touched. Her life was devoted to family and spending time with her little ones. She was fearless and never wrong, yet full of compassion and understanding always putting others before herself. She will be greatly missed by all, and our hearts will be empty without her, but we know that her soul is finally at rest and in peace. In Betty's later years she found passion in her involvement with WalMart. Betty also was passionate about her membership and involvement in the Methodist Church teaching classes and singing in the choir. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Cleon "Mitch" Mitchell Jr. and Charles P. Morrow; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Mitchell; one son, Joseph "Ty" Mitchell; and her brother, Hubert Forbus. She is survived by her children, Jennifer "Kay" and Kurt Guilbeau, Matt and Lori Mitchell, Mark and Yvonne Mitchell, Jon and Mandy Mitchell, all of Lafayette; two sisters, Ruth (Don) Thomas of Findlay, Ohio, and Janet (Russell) Holland of Point Pleasant. Betty's greatest joy in life were her grandchildren, Cleon Jr. (Jill) Mitchell, Kristy (Derek) Dyer, Mark A. Mitchell Jr., Elizabeth (Brandon) Pippen, Jennifer (Mark) Potier, Melissa (Braxton) Swilley, Christopher (Dawn) Guilbeau, Kimberly Guilbeau, Kevin Guilbeau, Jonathan (Mandy) Mitchell, Paul "Cutter" (Amel) Kates, Jessica (Chad) Chadwick, Jamie Craton, Julie (Brian) Arceri, Catherine Mitchell, Colin Mitchell, and Claire Mitchell; and great grandchildren, Ramsie Romero, Sara Touchet, TJ Touchet, Colin Touchet, Ethan, Riley, Kristina, and Eli Guilbeau, Hunter, Grace, and Tyler Swilley, Trenton and Issac Potier, Carolina, Regan and Alexander Mitchell, Jaik and Jaxon Chadwick, Noelle and Zain Kates, Carter Mitchell, Layla and Drew Dyer, Bradlee Guilbeau, Addyson Bourque , and Jordan Heitman and Frances Arceri. She was blessed. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant with Pastor Jim Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant. Visitations will be held from 6-8 p.m., Friday, and Saturday from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home.
