Blanche Shuler

Blanche Louise Chapman Shuler, 89, of Pliny, WV died quietly at home on Sunday, March 19, 2006. She was born January 16, 1917 in Pliny, WV, a daughter of the late Charles F. and Eliza Jane (Duncan) Chapman. Blanche was a homemaker and a Christian. She attended the Frazier's Bottom Methodist Church and was saved and attended the Siloam Baptist Church. Blanche is survived by her daughter, Jane Marie Shuler of Pliny; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary Lee and Becky Shuler of Pliny, John Elic "Jr." and Donna Shuler of Pliny and John Harold and Barbara Shuler of Patriot, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 65 years, John Elic Shuler; two sons, George Melvin Shuler and Elic Edward Shuler; a brother, Russell Chapman; a sister, Mae Chapman Saxton; half-brothers, Stanley and Clarence (Buddy) Chapman; and half-sisters, Hilda Stewart, Dode Lyons and Sis Hazelwood. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at the Mt. Union United Methodist Church in Pliny, WV with the Reverend Bobby Woods officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
