Bonnie Marie Chapman

Bonnie Marie (Long) Chapman, 91, of Newport, MI, formerly of Apple Grove, WV, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Gardens of Carleton Assisted Living, Carleton, MI, with her daughter, Linda, by her side.

She was born February 5, 1934, in Apple Grove, WV, a daughter of the late Orlando Worthy and Mary Carolyn Kensler-Long. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John Henry Chapman; son, Bradley Stephen Chapman; infant son and four siblings, Willard Glenn Long, Thelma Alberta Long, Bulah Gertrude Long- Casto, and Evelyn Louise Long- Bush.

Bonnie was 1951 graduate of Hannan High School and was Valedictorian of her class. She was a homemaker and a member of the Barton Chapel Church of Apple Grove, WV.

Survivors include her children, Linda Rose Chapman, Larry Richard Chapman; sisters, Elizabeth Geraldine Long- Saunders, Janet Sue Long- Payne; grandchildren, Jay Matthew Chapman, Tammy Chapman (Set) Van Valkenburg, Savanah Chapman (John) Williams, Robert Franklin Chapman, Lisa Marie Chapman (Ryan) Olson; five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the Barton Chapel Church, Apple Grove, WV, with Tyler Sharp officiating. Burial will follow in the Barton Chapel Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, at the church.
