Carol Belle (Rose) Hughes

Carol Belle (Rose) Hughes, 78, of Point Pleasant, died Saturday, July 26, 2014, at home. She was born July 5, 1936, in Columbus, Ohio, a daughter of the late Edwin Andrew Rose and Francis Ann (Johnson) Rose. Carol was a member of Bellemead United Methodist Church, in Point Pleasant, and was a foster grandparent with Mason County Schools. She was a homemaker, caregiver, and baby sitter for many. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edsel Gordon Hughes; two sisters, Shirley Hall and Delores Cornett; and son-in-law, Cecil Young. She is survived by two daughters, Susie Young of Point Pleasant and Rose Mary (Raymond) Lewis of Letart, WV; two grandchildren, Jamie (Wanita) Pullins of Point Pleasant and Mary Ruth Lewis of Letart; two great granddaughters, Blair Rose Lewis of Letart and Eliza Kubasik of Point Pleasant; and three great-great grandchildren, Austin Dean, Levi Dean, and Audrey Dean of Point Pleasant. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Bellemead United Methodist Church with Pastor Chip Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery, in Henderson, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, at the church Tuesday. Arrangements are under the direction of Wilcoxen Funeral Home, in Point Pleasant.
