Charles E. Cook, 93 of Point Pleasant, WV, known by many names: son, husband, dad, Charlie, C2, Grandpa, Grandpa Cook, “Cook Cook” and “ole man,” has gained another new title, Angel.

Widower of Mary Louise Brown Cook, wife of 67 years, preceded him in death in 2020. Born in Portsmouth, Ohio on May 10, 1932, to Eula Sparks Cook Napier and Charles Cook, Sr. (expired when Charlie and his sister were infants) and raised by his mother and beloved stepfather, Irvin Napier. Preceded in death by sister, Phyliss when she was age 6. He graduated from West Portsmouth High School Class of 1951. Proud Air Force Veteran from the Weather forecasters division spending most of his time in Guam and Ogden, Utah. He Retired from Goodyear, working in Piketon and Apple Grove facilities and AEP. He spent his life loving his Wife, raising his girls Connie (Terry), Hazelwood, Winfield, WV and Kim (Tom)Waugh, Huntington, WV and his grandchildren, Dr. Charles (Amanda) Clarke, Franklin, Tn. Sarah Waugh, Huntington, WV and Katherine (Andrew) Rowan of Clarksburg, WV. He doted on his great-granddaughters: Ava Grace Clarke and Savanah Grace Clarke and Juliette Charlie Rowan.

He also leaves behind a beloved sister-in-law Rose Brown of Defiance, Ohio and many nieces and nephews and his care team: Alicia Moss, Sheri Walker and Marsha Haga who loved him as family and helped him keep his wish to stay in his own home.

In honoring his request, there will only be graveside services. Eulogy to be delivered by close friend, George Smithberger, brief military remembrance and interment at Kirkland Memorial Gardens, Point Pleasant, on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 1:00 P.M.

In Lieu of flowers, please donate in remembrance of Charles Cook’s name to Hospice of Huntington, Point Pleasant office. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care team and the Hospice of Huntington for the support and guidance over the last year as dad lived with the progression of Pulmonary Fibrosis.
