Charles William Henson Sr.

Charles William "Ticky" Henson Sr. 67, of Point Pleasant, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008 at the Pleasant Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Point Pleasant. Ticky was retired as a Point Pleasant Postal Carrier with 14 years service and also retired from the West Virginia Army National Guard. He had served in the U. S. Army, and was involved in Scouting for many years. He was the Scoutmaster of Troop 259, Cub Scout Leader, was responsible for Boy Scout Camps, MGM's District Paraprofessional, District Commissioner, and Order of the Arrow advisor. He touched the lives of many people. His two true loves were his family and his scouting family. He was born March 3, 1941 in Point Pleasant to the late Frank Henson and Mary Pickens. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Charles William Henson Jr.; one brother; and Jim and Clara Hogg who reared him. Surviving are his wife Donna Jean (Little) Henson of Point Pleasant; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn Sue and Tim Caines of Pickerington, OH and Andrea and Andy Hall of Gallipolis Ferry; one son, Jonathan Charles Henson and fiancee' Savannah Coleman of Pickerington; a daughter-in-law, Jeannie Henson of Milton, WV and a brother, Ed (Janet) Hogg of Point Pleasant; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday October 14, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph McCall officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Hills Cemetery in Letart, WV where Military graveside rites will be given by the WV Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
