Charles William Peery

Charles William Peery, 65, of Apple Grove, WV, died Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV. He was born July 3, 1949, in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Mary Virginia (Meadows) Peery Slayton and stepfather George Slayton of Apple Grove, WV. Charles was retired from American Car and Foundry of Huntington and was a volunteer EMT at Valley Fire Department. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Ann Sisson; and brother-in-law, Wayne Young. He is survived by his companion of 28 years, Linda Diane Pearce of Apple Grove; two children, Crystal Peery of Apple Grove and Heather (Tim) Kersey of Red House, WV; two grandchildren; twelve step grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four step children, Cindy Nichols of Garner, NC, Bobby (Renee) Pearce of Milton, WV, Jenny Eatmon of Asheville, NC, and Billy (Kelly) Pearce of Hurricane, WV; five sisters, Patsy (David) Brumfield of Evansville, IN, Dottie (Raymond) Yonker of Apple Grove, Joyce (Ronnie) Rainey of Apple Grove, Kathy Powell of Apple Grove, and Vickie Young of Asheboro, NC; two brothers, James (Barbara) Peery of Ava, MO and Calvin (Jodie) Slayton of Huntington, WV; a special niece, Ashley Miller; special nephew, Wesley Powell; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Friday, November 21, 2014, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Don Reynolds officiating.
