Curtis Godfrey Burdette

Curtis Godfrey Burdette, 88, of Leon, WV, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026, at the residence of his caregivers in Leon, WV.

He was born on January 10, 1938, in Leon, WV, to the late Arthur Bradbury Burdette and Florence Louise (Schul) Burdette. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings; Charles Arthur Burdette, Stanton E. “Zeke” Burdette, John W. "John Bill" Burdette Sr., Stanley “Wayne” Burdette and Ronald N. Burdette.

Curtis was a member of the Leon Baptist Church in Leon, WV and a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1955. He was retired from Kaiser Aluminum in Ravenswood, WV, with 41 years of service and a veteran of United States Army. His greatest passion was being a lifelong farmer.

Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Billy and Stephanie McDermitt of Point Pleasant, WV and David Greene of West Columbia, WV; grandchildren, Christopher McDermitt of Point Pleasant, WV, Casey McDermitt of Point Pleasant, WV and Bruce and wife Calie McDermitt of Point Pleasant, WV; great grandchildren, Thea McDermitt, Kylah McDermitt, Luxton McDermitt, Kensley McDermitt and several loving nieces and nephews.

The family would like to share a special thanks to Gene Deweese, Kathy and Dottie Casto for their love and care for Curtis over the many years.

Services will be 7 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2026, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, WV, with Pastor Fred Sparks officiating. Private burial will follow at a later date in Leon Cemetery, Leon, WV. Friends may visit from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday prior to service.
