Dale Sanders Rulen

Dale Sanders Rulen, 83, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. He was born July 19, 1932, in Gallipolis Ferry, a son of the late Charles L. Rulen and Alice M. (Canterbury) Rulen. Sanders had served his country honorably in the United States Army and retired with 20 years service from Jones Brothers Construction Company of Mount Juliet, TN. He had served the Lord in ministry since 1970, graduating from seminary with a degree in Theology from Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, TN. During his ministry he served as pastor of Olive Baptist Church of Lesage, WV, Mount Hope Baptist Church of Chesapeake, OH, and the Faith Gospel Church of Gallipolis Ferry, where he was a faithful member. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Mae (Raike) Rulen of Gallipolis Ferry; a daughter, Rita Jo (James E.) Chapman of Culloden, WV; one son, Ricky Dale Rulen of Eagleville, TN, and two grandchildren, Chris (Tonya) Rulen of Lebanon, TN and Josiah Chapman of Culloden. Also surviving are two sisters, Carolyn Henson and Linda Raike both of Gallipolis Ferry; and two brothers, Charles Rulen of Chesapeake and Harold (Jessie) Rulen of Teays Valley, WV. Visitation will be from 11-1 p.m., Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with a graveside service and burial to follow at Beale Chapel Cemetery with Ronnie Cremeans officiating. Military graveside honors will be given by the West Virginia Army Honor Guard and American Legion Post No. 23 of Point Pleasant.
