Danna D. Smith

Danna D. Smith, 86, of Point Pleasant, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014 at home. She was born August 29, 1927, in Lenore, WV, a daughter of the late James Deskins and Maude (Bess) Deskins. Danna was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and the Point Pleasant Women's Club. She was also a former beautician in Point Pleasant for many years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ray K. Smith; one sister, Sibyl Evans; brother, Dennison Deskins and one infant brother. Danna is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Glenn Long of Point Pleasant and Shelia and Don Wiggins of Richmond, VA; one brother and sister-in-law, Gay and Pricilla Deskins of Scott Depot; four grandchildren, Staci and Gary Newsome of Richmond, IN, Sheri and Craig Warner of Nitro, Rachelle and David Blue of Bumpass, VA and Matt and Jennifer Wiggins of Richmond, VA; eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m., Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Jim Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in the Trace Fork Cemetery, Rt. 34 South, Culloden, WV. Visitation will be Monday, August 4, 2014, from 7-8 p.m., at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV. The family would like to express their thanks to special caregiver Vickie Pearson for her care and love over the last four months.
