Daris Blake Jarvis

Daris Blake Jarvis, 89, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away Friday, April 3, 2026, at home.

He was born November 15, 1936, in Frame, WV, a son of the late Blake and Irene Elizabeth (Harris) Jarvis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty Jean Jarvis.

Daris was a 1954 graduate of Dupont High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving his country for four years. Daris was a retired Furnace Operator with Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation with 34 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Stewart Johnson VFW Post #9926, Mason, WV and the United Steelworkers Union Local 5668, Ravenswood, WV. Daris was also a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Gallipolis, OH. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid gun collector.

Survivors include his children, David Jarvis and his wife, Pam of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Steve Jarvis and his wife, Teresa of Owensboro, KY; grandchildren, Hannah (Ethan) Bauer of Louisville, KY, Erica (Jacob) Gipson of Paducah, KY, Michaela (Gavin) Suver of Benton, IL, Jacob Jarvis of Barboursville, WV; great grandchildren, Jarvis Bauer, Ezekiel Bauer, Oliver Gipson, Norah Suver, Simon Gipson, Rose Bauer, Josephine Bauer, Janie Suver, Ryan Jacob Bowman; two sisters, Kay Foley and her husband, Michael of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Reta Thomas of Point Pleasant, WV; brother, Michael Jarvis and his wife, Vickie of Culloden, WV; caregivers, Ann Carmichael, Vicki Pearson, Lisa Kinnaird; VA caregivers, Phyllis and Cassandra  

Service will be 1 p.m., Monday, April 6, 2026, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, WV, with Pastor Mark Stump officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens, Point Pleasant, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until time of the service on Monday, at the funeral home.
