Dearl Eugene Jeffers, 56, of Southside, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at his home. He was born July 9, 1958, in Southside, a son of the late Perry Clayton Jeffers and Ida Mae (Hudson) Jeffers. Dearl was a carpenter by trade and a member of the carpenters local #1159 in Point Pleasant and a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Southside. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clinton and John R. Jeffers; two sisters, Janet Louise Watson and Agnes "Lynn" Ferguson; two brothers-in-law, John Lett and Larry Ferguson. He is survived by his son, Jeremy Jeffers (Christy) of Winfield; one grandson, Perry Michael Jeffers of Winfield; five sisters, Doris Stanley (Danny) of Southside, Debbie McDade (Roger) of Southside, Sarah Katherine Leport (Larry) of Henderson, Karen Sue Dill (Rodney) of Southside and Terry Jean Mundell (Greg) of Southside; two brothers, James P. Jeffers (Frances) of Southside and Allen L. Jeffers (Delores "Irene") of Southside; one brother-in-law, Charles O. Watson of Point Pleasant; life long friend and mother of Jeremy, Helen Edna Jeffers of Fraziers Bottom and multiple nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home, in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Fred McCallister officiating.
