Donald Jay Double

Donald Jay Double, 92, of Southside, WV, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025.

He was born May 27, 1933, in Uniondale, IN, a son of the late Garth Ehret and Nellie Pearl (Sweeney) Double. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth (Johnson) Double; brother, Robert (Ruth) Double and one sister, Marjorie Greek.

Donald graduated from Ossian High School in Ossian, IN and was a retired Carpenter and Bus Driver for Mason County Schools. He attended the Wesleyan Holiness Church in Point Pleasant, where he taught Sunday School and also taught Bible Studies at the Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church in Letart, WV. Donald served as Chaplain at the Mason and Gallia County Jails.

Survivors include his children, Timothy (Karen) Double of Southside, WV. Donald (Lori) Double of Roanoke, IN, Jonathan (Kim) Double of Glen Roy, Wellston, OH, Deborah Double of Southside, WV; 11 grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, WV, with the Rev. Daniel Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, Letart, WV. Friends are welcome to visit with the family from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Monday, September 15, 2025, at the funeral home.
