Saturday morning, September 20th, 2025, our Lord called home a loving mother, Donna “Sue” (Reynolds) Hodges, 77, of Apple Grove, WV. She leaves behind her husband, Glen Hodges, of 62 years. Her greatest accomplishments were her three Godly daughters, Donna Roxann, and Tammy.
A faithful member of Mt. Olive Church. Mama Sue to all who knew her, she gave endlessly with open arms and an open heart. Never expecting anything in return. To be loved by her was to know unconditional love. Not only in her words, but in the countless ways she cared for others. She showed it in every meal she made, making sure no one ever left hungry, coming to every birthday party, school event, and game- always present, always cheering, always supporting. Though her time feels too short, her love continues to shine through the lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clebert “Pal” and Sarah (Black) Reynolds; four brothers, Otho, Odell, Ervin and Moss Reynolds and two sisters, Minnie Holley and Ola Meadows.
In addition to her loving husband, Glen Hodges; she is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Mark Mayes of Apple Grove, WV, Roxann and Duane Twigg of Barboursville, WV, Tammy and Keith Taylor of Fraziers Bottom, WV; brother, Red and Linda Reynolds; sister, Rosie and Mike Smith; grandchildren, Josh and Kandis Smith, Sarah and Jeff Burton, Christina Mayes, Shane Mayes, Natasha and Seth Eberle, Jared Taylor, Kayla and Sam Roy, Jacob and Brooke Taylor, Anna and Zack Parsons; great grandchildren, Javen, Piper, Cainan, Liam, Grayson, Jace, Annabeth, Ava, Brooklyn, Klaire, Evie, Bentley, Ivy and Ford.
Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in knowing she is present with the Lord, hearing, “Well done, good, and faithful servant.”
Service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Mt. Olive Church, Milton, WV, with Pastor Mark Mayes, Pastor Don Reynolds and Mike Smith officiating.
