Dorothy Ellen (Pike) Sturgeon

Dorothy Ellen (Pike) Sturgeon, 90, of Ashton, WV, died Monday, October 20, 2014, at Pleasant Valley Hospital. She was born October 1, 1924, in Ashton, a daughter of the late Pearly Edward Pike and Edith Marie (Waugh) Pike. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald A. Sturgeon; two brothers, Donald and James Pike; and three sisters, Ruby Martin, Hazel Cuckler and Bonnie Holley. Dorothy is survived by her children, James Donald (Beverly) Sturgeon of Ashton and Donna Jean (Stewart) Duke of Milton, WV; two grandsons, Doug Sturgeon of Ashton and Eric (Jeanne) Sturgeon of Ashton; a granddaughter, M C Duke of Hurricane, WV; three great grandchildren, Luke, Caleb, and Leah Sturgeon; three step-grandchildren, Karen Duke Lively, Vana Duke Gordon, and Kellie Duke Henderson; and two sisters, Stella Knapp of Glenwood, WV and Bernice Pike of Ashton, WV. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 23, 2014, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Brian May officiating. Burial will follow at Ball's Chapel Cemetery, in Ashton, WV. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
