Dwayne Edward Patterson

Dwayne Edward Patterson, 64, of Point Pleasant, WV, known as "Whitey", a nickname given to him by an old friend, the late Jack Sheline, passed away peacefully May 26, 2026, at Rivers Health, surrounded by his loving family. 

He was born on September 17, 1961, to Carrie Mae Pearson and was raised by his grandparents,, Joe and Glenna Patterson, all of whom preceded him in death. In addition to his mother and grandparents, he was preceded in death by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is survived by brothers, Darrell (Teri) Pearson of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Timmy Pearson of Gallipolis Ferry, WV; sister, Phyllis (Pat) Jenson of Pickerington, OH; special cousin, Jason (Rachel) Patterson of Gallipolis Ferry, WV; uncle, Kenny (Delores) Patterson of Gallipolis Ferry, WV; aunt, Edna Denias of Point Pleasant, WV and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

He enjoyed watching sports, especially his beloved Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Reds. He also loved listening to old country music. Dwayne had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed by all that loved him.

The family would like to thank the ER staff and First Floor staff at Rivers Health for the great care and comfort they provided to him and the family.

Graveside service will be 3 p.m., Friday, May 29, 2026, at Wyoma Cemetery, Gallipolis Ferry, WV, with Pastor Roger McCallister officiating.
