Emma Loraine Workman

Emma Loraine Workman, 93, of Point Pleasant, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born January 31, 1920, in Gallipolis Ferry, WV, a daughter of the late Harry Oldaker and Zella (Nibert) Oldaker. Emma was a member of Jordan Baptist Church at Gallipolis Ferry, and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Chester "Buddy" Burdette Workman; and two brothers, Ray Oldaker and Cape Oldaker. She is survived by her husband, Chester Workman of Point Pleasant who she married August 6, 1938, and recently celebrated their 75th anniversary. Also, surviving are one daughter-in-law, Earlene Workman of Lansing, NC; four grandchildren, Timothy, David, Mark, and Steven Workman of NC; 11 great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 21, 2013, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Rev. Paul Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home. It is the families request that you bring no food, please.
