Gary Lee Baird, 52, of Southside, died Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant. He was born August 19, 1960, in Southside, a son of Charles Lee Baird of Point Pleasant and the late Patricia L. (Rimmey) Baird. Gary was a member of Hambrick Church, a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1978, and member of American Legion Post No. 23 of Point Pleasant. He was the owner of Baird's Logging and had served in the Army National Guard. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ashley Nicole Baird. He is survived by his wife, Ruthie (Birchfield) Baird of Southside; two sons, Joshua Lee (Samantha) Baird of Southside, and Travis Garan Baird and girlfriend Sara Arbogast of Southside; two grandchildren, Elijah and Elisabeth Baird of Southside; his father, Charles Lee Baird; one brother, Charles Aaron Baird of Southside; special mother-in-law, Nancy E. Birchfield of Point Pleasant; special brother-in-law, Ronnie Birchfield of Southside; and a special cousin, Eddie Bush of Southside. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Hambrick Church in Southside with Pastor Bert Flora officiating. Burial will follow in the Hambrick Cemetery where military graveside rites will be given by the West Virginia Honor Guard and American Legion Post No. 23 of Point Pleasant. Visitation will be from 11 to 1 p.m., Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
