George Timothy Clendenen

October 8, 1951 — August 24, 2025

George Timothy "Tim" Clendenen, born on October 8, 1951, in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital on August 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Tim was the son of John Franklin "Rags" Clendenen and Maxine Dudding Clendenen Nibert. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather Garland Nibert, and his brother John Franklin Clendenen II.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Sandra Kay Farney Clendenen, and his brothers Kendal Clendenen (Sheri) and Jeff Clendenen (Jenny). Tim was a proud father to his son, George Timothy "Timmy" Clendenen II, and his wife Amy, as well as his daughter Jessica Wedemeyer of Point Pleasant. He cherished his grandchildren, Kerstyn Clendenen and Cooper Clendenen, whom he adored deeply and often bragged about to anyone who would listen.

Tim was known for his honesty and integrity, but he could also be stubborn and cantankerous at times. He had a particular way of doing things, often going above and beyond to ensure that every job was completed to his satisfaction. While some may have found his perfectionism annoying, the results always spoke for themselves, showcasing his dedication and pride in his work.

A passionate collector of antiques, Tim could recount the story behind nearly every item in his collection, including when and where he bought it and how much he paid. Much like his mother, he had an uncanny ability to remember people and their families, often sharing intriguing details about their connections and relationships.

Tim was a member of the American Legion Post 23 and the Loyal Order of Moose #731. He enjoyed watching classic television westerns and war shows, reflecting his love for history and storytelling. Tim also made a memorable appearance on the show "American Pickers," showcasing his passion for antiques.

Tim's warm spirit, unique personality, and love for his family and friends will be deeply missed. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
