Gloria Ann Thompson

Gloria Ann (White) Thompson, 88, of Point Pleasant, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV.

She was born January 24, 1938, in Hamlin, WV, a daughter of the late Hersey Lee and Virginia Mae (Duncan) White. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandsons, Joseph Thompson and Mitchell Smith.

Gloria graduated from Guyan Valley High School, class of 1956. She was a loving and devoted homemaker and mother to her children. Gloria worked at Fruth Pharmacy in Point Pleasant and was a talented decorator. She loved gardening and working outside in her flowers and enjoyed tropical plants as well.

Left to cherish her wonderful memory include her children, Joe Thompson and his wife, Lori of Flatrock, WV, Tony Thompson and his wife, Sandy of Gallipolis, OH, Lee Thompson and his wife, Amy of Point Pleasant, WV, Mark Thompson of Gaithersburg, MD; grandchildren, Jessica Smith( Andy Rainey), Mitchell (Desirae) Smith, Matthew (Rikki) Thompson, Kassie (Josh) Wellington, Tony Thompson, Shawn (Natalie) Thompson, Lizzy (Morgan) Harrah, Jon (Morgen) Thompson, Evan Thompson and Amanda (Matt) Richardson; great grandchildren, Khloe Peck, Easton Holley, Matthew, Ellie Thompson, Nick Lyons, Maddie Lucas, Liam Thompson, Noah Thompson, Maggie and Lilly Thompson, Remley and Lainey Harrah.

Service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, WV. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens, Point Pleasant. Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until time of the service on Sunday, at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Matt Thompson, Shawn Thompson, Jonathan Thompson, Evan Thompson, Josh Wellington, Morgan Harrah and Matt Richardson. Honorary pallbearer will be Anthony Thompson.
