Gregory L. Leport, 64, of Henderson, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 6, 2013, at his home surrounded by family and friends after a long illness. He was born April 12, 1949, in Henderson, WV, a son of the late Rabbi Leport and Harriette Virginia (Bartrum) Leport. Greg was employed by the West Virginia Department of Agriculture, was a self employed farmer, and served his country overseas in the United States Army. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and devoted friend to all. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Andrew J. Leport, brothers, Denver A. Leport, William A. Leport, Ernest J. Leport, Clifford L. Leport, and Stephen K. Leport; and one sister, Genevieve L. (Leport) Lee. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Reba Diane (Smith) Leport; one son, Gregory L. Leport of Henderson; three daughters, Elizabeth N. "Nikki" Leport of Henderson, Shannon R. (Scotty) Warden of Eleanor, WV, and Felicia D. (Jeremy) Bush of Bidwell, OH; a grandson, Aden J.S. Warden; one granddaughter, Nevaeh S. Warden; and a future grandson, Colten E.A. Bush. Also, surviving are one brother, John F. (Sue) Leport of Henderson; two sisters, Jerri (Delbert) Putney of Gallipolis Ferry, and Loretta (James) Barnette of Gallipolis Ferry; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Pastor Bert Flora officiating. Burial will follow at the Concord Cemetery in Henderson with military graveside services by the West Virginia Honor Guard and American Legion Post No. 23 of Point Pleasant.
