Gretta Marie Allen

Gretta Marie Allen, 87, of Point Pleasant, died Monday, January 13, 2014, at Abbyshire Place Nursing and Rehabilitation, Bidwell, OH. She was born November 29, 1926, in Larado, West Virginia, a daughter of the late DeWitt Browning and Anna Lee (Ashley) Browning. Gretta was a member of the Sand Hill Road Church of Christ, and the Homemakers Club of Point Pleasant. She had worked as a secretary in the law office of Mike Shaw. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, David Browning. She is survived by her husband, Lewis A. Allen; a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy Lee Allen and Luther Broome of Twentynine Palms, CA; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Nicki Allen of Chesapeake, OH; one grandson, Neil Allen of Huntington, WV; one great grandson, Wade Allen of Myrtle Beach, SC; and a brother, Donald Browning of Florida. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the Sand Hill Road Church of Christ with Minister Pete Allinder officiating.
