Hazel Katherine DeWitt

Hazel Katherine DeWitt, 80, of Gallipolis, OH, formerly of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2026, at Arbors in Stow, OH.

She was born on April 3, 1946, in Teays Valley, WV, to the late Luther William DeWitt and Macel Leota (Carr) DeWitt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her her siblings; Jack Carson DeWitt, Luther William DeWitt Jr., Kenneth Wayne DeWitt, Carlisle DeWitt, Beulah Mae Erskine, Reba I. Fulmer, Thelma Jane DeWitt, Marjorie Fish, Rosalie Thorne and Betty Kaye Hughes.

Betty was a Christian and attended several churches. She was a graduate of West Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, NC and a former waitress for Harris Steakhouse in Point Pleasant, WV.

Survivors include her sister, Alice Faye DeWitt of Gallipolis, OH; brothers, Keith Allen DeWitt of Point Pleasant, WV and Clarence Ray DeWitt of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, along with multiple nieces and nephews.

Private services and burial will be held at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant, WV, with Pastor Jonathan Pinson officiating.
