Helen Louise Roush

Helen Louise "Wezzie" Roush, 88, of Lewisburg, WV, formerly of Point Pleasant, died Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Summers County Appalachian Hospital, in Hinton, WV.She was born March 15, 1926, in New Haven, WV, a daughter of the late Dewey Roush and Esther Ruth (Cook) Roush.Louise was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Point Pleasant, and Point Pleasant Chapter No. 75 Order of the Eastern Star. She graduated from Wahama High School, Class of 1944, and in 1947 she graduated from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, in Parkersburg, WV. She had served her country in the United States Navy as a nurse, and for 47 years was in the nursing profession, retiring from Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Gum, and Ada Mae Wolfe; and two brothers, Lew Roush, and Rollin Roush.She is survived by three sisters, Ruth Walker, of Richmond, IN, Evelyn (Marshall) Cox, of Ravenswood, WV, and Susanna King, of Lewisburg, WV; two brothers, Norris (Libby) Roush, of New Haven, and Bob (Goldia) Roush, of Pomeroy, OH; a special niece, Sheila Howard; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and cousins.At Louise's request, she will be cremated, and there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2014, at Graham Cemetery in New Haven, with James Thomas officiating.
