Herman F. Buttrick, 61, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, died Monday, October 28, 2013, at home surrounded by his family. He was born October 31, 1951, in Cedar Grove, WV, a son to the late John and Lucy Wright. Herman was employed by the Mason County Board of Education's Maintenance Department, and was a farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Randy Buttrick. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Kay (Hudson) Buttrick of Gallipolis Ferry; children, Daniel (Gretchen) Buttrick of Henderson, WV, and Penny (Justin) Alford of Cross Lanes, WV; four grandchildren, Jaden Buttrick, Loren Buttrick, Ashley Smith, and Andrew Alford. Also, surviving are one sister, Diane Johnson of Indiana; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger Buttrick of Gallipolis, OH, John and Vickie Buttrick of Gallipolis, James Buttrick of Crown City, OH, and Barbara Buttrick of Columbus, OH; several nieces, and nephews; special friends, Linda Raike of Gallipolis Ferry, Rex Hatfield and family of Gallipolis Ferry; and a special neighbor, Alan Lee. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 1, 2013, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Arnold "Dee" Keith officiating. Burial will follow in the Raike Family Cemetery at Gallipolis Ferry. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
