James Martin "Jimmie" Edmonds

James Martin “Jimmie” Edmonds, 82, of Apple Grove, WV, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at his home.

He was born December 27, 1942, in Apple Grove, WV, a son of the late James Elmer and Martina Francis (Nowlin) Edmonds. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Mary Jane “Sissy” (Price) Edmonds; five siblings, Gail Edmonds, J.R. Edmonds, Stevie Edmonds, Dorothy Shaffer, and Awilda “Wig” Simpkins.

Jimmie retired from the CSX Railroad as a Machinist with 38 years of service. He faithfully attended the CSX Retirees Breakfast and Barton Chapel Church. Jimmie was an avid hunter of White-tailed deer, and enjoyed gardening and taking care of his ponies.

Survivors include his loving children, Bruce Edmonds (Stacy Ritchie) of Apple Grove, Michele “Shelly” McCarty and her husband, Jimmy, of Apple Grove; grandchildren, Ashley (Mikey) Rainey, Nicholas Edmonds (Heather Hall), Brandon (Molly) Butcher, Elizabeth Grinstead, Blake Edmonds; 13 great grandchildren; three great- great grandchildren and three step-sisters, Becky (Don) Saxon, Anita Kaiser, Teresa Fisher.

Service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, WV, with Pastor Ronnie Long officiating. Burial will follow at Barton Chapel Church Cemetery, Apple Grove, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until time of the service on Saturday, at the funeral home.
