James Paul Jordan, 86, of Ashland, KY, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Woodland Oaks Health Care in Ashland.
He was born October 20, 1937, in Arlee, WV, a son of the late Everett Lewis Jordan and Carrie Marie (Dye) Jordan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Medy C. Jordan; brothers, Johnny Jordan, Larry Jordan, Ralph Jordan and Harry Jordan; and sisters, Beulah Bechtle, Reba Marcum, Ruby Rasor, Helen Myers, and Phyllis Bonecutter.
James served his country in the United States Army and was a member of American Legion Post 23 of Point Pleasant. He was a former employee of FMC of Columbus, OH. James enjoyed reading the bible and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed hunting, being in the woods, spending time at the family cabin and playing with all kinds of animals.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Ruby Aileen (Caudill) Jordan; children, James "Robin" Jordan and wife Wanda of Washington Court House, OH, Susan R. Jordan and Ben Blizzard of Mount Sterling, OH, April Riffe and Gary Carroll of Olive Hill, KY and John Aaron Riffe of Ashland, KY; grandchildren, Martin Payne, Amanda (T.J.) Muncy, Breanna Stacy, Courtney Stacy, Baeli Riffe, Alissa Riffe and Gavin Riffe; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Jewell Durst of Gallipolis Ferry; brothers, William Donald Jordan of Gallipolis Ferry and Wilbur (Ellen) Jordan of Gallipolis Ferry; special friends, Randy Leport and Gary Kinnard; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2024, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Cathy Searls and Pastor Josh Searls officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery in Gallipolis Ferry, where military graveside honors will be given by the Stewart-Johnson VFW Post 9926 of Mason, WV. Visitation will be from 11-1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
