Jessica Lee Harris

Jessica Lee Harris, 50, of Leon, WV, died Thursday, January 31, 2013. She was born December 21, 1962, in Hawthorne, California, the daughter of Lloyd A. Akers of Point Pleasant and JoAnna L. (Shamblin) Spencer of Point Pleasant. Jessica attended Otter Branch Church in Buffalo, WV, and was a Juvenile Correctional Officer at the James H. "Tiger" Morton Juvenile Center. She was preceded in death by a son, Elijah Mowrey; and stepfather, Joseph Spencer. Jessica is survived in addition to her parents, by one son, Richard Mowrey of San Francisco, California; a daughter and son-in-law, Grace and Wade DeWeese of Leon; one granddaughter, Elizabeth DeWeese of Leon; two brothers, Troy (Margaret) Akers of Point Pleasant and Wyatt Akers of Point Pleasant; maternal grandmother, Loraine Shamblin; and stepmother, Donna Akers. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Carl "Boxer" Swisher officiating.
