John Marion Persinger

John Marion Persinger, 88, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, passed away April 5, 2025, at Rivers Health, Point Pleasant, WV.

He was born August 4, 1936, in Poca, WV, a son of the late Charles Alexander and Eliza Ellen (Forbus) Persinger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by granddaughter, Chelsea Weaver; three sisters, Janet Pring, Anna Norsetter, Mary Jo Persinger and three brothers, Charles Jr., James, and William Persinger.

John was a 1954 graduate of Poca High School and served in the United States Air Force. He retired from Xerox as a Service Technician with over 30 years of service and was a member of the American Legion Post #23, Point Pleasant, WV.

Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Sue (Thomas) Persinger of Gallipolis Ferry, WV; daughter, Amy Guinn of Red House, WV; grandchild, Jadon Guinn of Red House, WV and three great grandchildren, Jayce Workman of Liberty, WV, Bryce Workman and Jaelyn Workman of Buffalo, WV.

Memorial Service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, WV, with Minister Pete Allinder officiating. Burial will take place at the Beale Chapel Cemetery, Apple Grove, WV, at the convivence of the family.
