Josephine (Joby) Wamsley Taylor went home to be with the Lord on May 2, 2025, at her home. She was born in Point Pleasant, WV, on July 13, 1926, to Charles and Bessie Wamsley. She was employed by Pleasant Valley Hospital and retired after many years of service.
Joby was a life-long member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she faithfully attended until she was no longer able. While she participated in various ministries over the years, the most impactful was a Bible study in the 1980s. It was in this study that her faith in Christ really began to grow. Joby trusted Christ for the forgiveness of her sins and tried to live faithfully for Him. We are confident that she is in His presence now.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Taylor; her brothers Frank Wamsley, Robert Wamsley, Clarence Wamsley, Dale Wamsley, and Chester Wamsley; and sisters Mildred Campion and Christine Lanier.
Joby is survived by her daughters Jan Taylor of Cross Lanes, WV, and Joni Bolin (Gordon) of Raleigh, NC; grandsons Scott Bolin and Mark Bolin; great-grandsons Taylor Bolin and Drew Bolin; and sisters-in-law Ival Wamsley and Doris Wamsley.
There will be a graveside service at Kirkland Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, May 6, at 11:00 AM, officiated by Rev. Ronnie Tote. Joby had a heart for the poor; those wishing to honor her memory may make a donation to Facing Hunger Food Bank, 1327 7th Avenue, Huntington, WV 25701.
