Louis Schwartz Jr.

Louis Schwartz Jr., 92, of Point Pleasant, WV, peacefully passed away on January 16, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Louis was born on August 1, 1933, in Point Pleasant, WV, to the late Lewis Schwartz and Mary Etta (Wilcoxen) Schwartz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Donna Carroll (Russell) Schwartz; granddaughter, Alyscia Morrow; brother, George W. Schwartz; sisters, Mae B. Pullin and Pearl E. Pullin.

Louis was retired pipefitter with 30 years of service from United States Steel in Lorian, OH. He was a United States Army veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #140 of New Haven and Stewart-Johnson V.F.W. Post #9926 of Mason.

He is survived by his children, Lucretia Strehle of Letart, WV, Charlotte and husband Rodney VanMeter of Point Pleasant, WV and Lawrence and wife Katie Schwartz of Letart, WV; grandchildren, Josh Strehle, Miranda Thompson, Ruby Schwartz and Leslie (Heather) Schwartz; great-grandchildren, Keagan, William, Miles, Adrian, Audrey, Leiland, Easton, Kaylee, Kelsie and Alec; great-great-grandchildren, Hayen, Farryn and Kaysen; sister, Diane and husband John of Point Pleasant, WV.

Service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, WV, with Pastor Michael Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at the Eckard Cemetery in Point Pleasant, WV. with Military Honors conducted by the West Virginia Honor Guard and Stewart-Johnson VFW Post #9926 of Mason. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
