Marlene Gay McCarty

Marlene Gay McCarty, 74, of Apple Grove, WV, passed away after a short illness on July 23, 2025.

Marlene was the daughter of the late Riley and Rosa (Black) Edmonds. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Keith, Garrett, David, and Ernest Edmonds.

She was a devoted member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Fraziers Bottom, WV, where she joyfully sang her Lord’s praises in the choir and gave thanks for the many blessings in her life. Marlenes greatest blessing was her family.

Marlene is survived by her husband of 37 years, Ronald McCarty; sons, Bill (Frances) Stover, Joe (Sabrina) Stover; stepchildren, Ron (Darlene) McCarty, Jeff (Sharon) McCarty, Tim (Lori) McCarty, Beth Lanier; grandchildren, Teona Stover, Latosha (Albert) Legg, Laykin (Andrew) Stoneback, Tanner (Emily) Stover, Kelsi (Taylor) White, TJ (Brenna) McCarty, Jessica (Corey) Smith, Matthew Bichard; 26 great grandchildren, special little friend, Myah Litchfield; siblings, Frank (Linda) Edmonds, Sharon Edmonds, Carolyn Cobb, Steve (Wanda) Edmonds, Donald (Linda) Edmonds, Robin (Wayne) Richardson, and Ellen Jane Robertson.

Service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, WV, with Pastor Chuck Elkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Beale Cemetery, Apple Grove, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday, at the funeral home.
