Marlyn Jean Bugg

Marlyn Jean Bugg, 86, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV.

She was born February 24, 1940, in Mason, WV, a daughter of the late Jake M. and Violet Virginia (Rickard) Burns. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Carmen Compson; brother, Ben Burns and an infant brother, Isaiah Burns.

Marlyn was a graduate of Wahama High School and retired from Lakin Hospital as a Cook with 20 years of service. She attended Wyoma Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Bugg; daughter, Amanda V. Bugg of Gallipolis Ferry, WV; grandchildren, James M. Marshall (Kelly) of Southside, WV, Ryan K. Marshall of Gallipolis Ferry, WV; four great grandchildren; sister, Ella Hoschar of Utah; two brothers, Stanford Burns (Brenda) of Columbus, OH, Mike Burns (Jackie) of West Columbia, WV and special friend, Edna Denias of Point Pleasant, WV.

Per her request, there will be no services at this time. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
