Mary Frances Ward, 83, of Point Pleasant, went to be with the Lord Monday, December 15, 2014, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born May 16, 1931, in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late Harry Fannin and Ada (Dixon) Fannin. Mary was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and deeply loved by her family. She was a member of Bellemead United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School in years past. She graduated from Vinson High School Class of 1948, and retired from Mason County Schools as a teachers aid. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Stephen Ward; grandson, Donald Paul Ward; one sister, Elizabeth Wellman; and nine half sisters. She is survived by her husband, Donald L. Ward of Point Pleasant; a daughter and son-in-law, Leslie Ann and Matthew Martin of Proctorville, OH; one son and daughter-in-law, Gregory E. and Cheryl Ward of Milton, WV; seven grandchildren, Michael Stephen Ward of Walterboro, SC, Aubrey Rae Ward of York, SC, Jamie Ward of Huntington, WV, Lianna Ward of Nashville, TN, Scott Ward of Columbus, OH, Meili Martin of Proctorville, and Minda Martin of Proctorville. Also surviving are a sister, Lillian (Jack) Patterson of Huntington; one brother, Frank (Melanie) Fannin of Scott Depot, WV; and a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, December 18, 2014, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Chip Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens, in Point Pleasant. Visitation will be from 12 noon till 2 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
