Michael Dean Cooper

Michael Dean Cooper, 79, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away Monday, October 19, 2026, at home.

He was born June 10, 1947, in South Portsmouth, KY, a son of the late James D. and Goldie Mae (Jewitt) Cooper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Juanita Carol (Underwood) Cooper; son, Joseph R. Cooper; brothers, Paul Cooper, Walter “Pizz” Cooper and four sisters, Joyce, Janet, Carolyn and Ruth.

Michael was a United States Marine and served his country faithfully during the Vietnam War. He retired from CSX Railroad and was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ.

Survivors include his daughter, Mariah Hurlow and her husband, Robert of Crown City, OH and three grandchildren, Lalla Hurlow, Zane Hurlow and Dalton Hurlow.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m., Friday, October 23, 2026, at Eddy Chapel Cemetery, Leon, WV, with Dan Underwood officiating. Military rites will be provided by the U.S. Marine Honor Guard.
