Norene Louise Durst

Norene Louise Durst, 94, of  Point Pleasant, WV, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Rivers Health in Point Pleasant, WV.

She was born August 23, 1931, in New Haven to the late Iva Mae (Hoffman) Hudson.  In addition to her mother, she was  preceded in death by her husband LeRoy Ernest Durst; daughter, Brenda Hamm; sisters, Naomi Yeager, Alice Rayburn, Rebecca Grimm and Florence Hudson; brother, Edwin Hudson.

Louise was a member of the First Church of God in Point Pleasant, WV,  a 1949 graduate of Wahama High School in Mason, WV and a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and James Lewis of Gallipolis, OH; grandchildren, Jessica (Mike) Hitt, Bethany (Paul) Cochran, Courtney (Scott) Cummons and Tiffany (Chuck) Fourspring; great grandchildren, Emilee (Dawson) Anthony, Jarred (Danielle) Hitt, Brenda Cochran, Claire Cochran, Sadie Cummons, Rush Cummons, Flint Cummons and Charlette Fourspring; one great grandchild, Everly Hitt; sister, June Litchfield of New Haven and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV, with Rev. Carl "Boxer" Swisher and Pastor Matt Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens, Point Pleasant, WV.  Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service on Wednesday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mason County Action Group for meals on wheels, 101 2nd Street, Point Pleasant, WV 25550.
