Opal B. Casto, 97, of Point Pleasant, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018, at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant.She was born June 13, 1921, in Maggie, Mason County, WV, a daughter of the late Hershell A. Barnett and Laura Jane (Mitchell) Barnett.Opal was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Henderson. She was state archery champion for two years, an avid golfer, bowler and enjoyed running in local 5 K competitions for 60 years and older groups. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Burdell Casto; four brothers, Robert, Carl "Bud", Chester H. and Roland Barnett; and six sisters, Beulah Lewis, Elva McDaniel, Marie Thornton, Hope Rice, Inez "Toots" Garrison and Lucille "Midge" Schwartz.She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Beverley Casto of Point Pleasant and Paul and Heather Casto of Buchanan, VA; three granddaughters, Brandi Casto-Waters and husband Andy of Greer, SC, Tianna Storey and husband Matt of Kingsport, TN and Emily Torres and husband Jean Paul of Greer, SC; and five great-grandchildren, Ella Katherine Casto-Waters, Baker Louise "Lucy" Casto-Waters, Javier Aiden Torres, Olivia Ann Torres and Mateo Alexander Torres.A graveside service and burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 23, 2018, at Concord Cemetery in Henderson, with Dr. Brandi Casto-Waters officiating.
