Paul Martin

Paul Martin, 91, Gallipolis Ferry, passed away peacefully October 11, 2026 at Abbyshire Place in Bidwell, Ohio, after a long illness.  He was born in 1935 in Pliny, WV to the late Wilson and Ethel Martin.  In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Phyllis Martin, Sister Violet Bateman, infant brother Eugene Martin, and grandson, Jeremy Dean Blessing.  He retired from Foote Mineral Plant, New Haven, WV and enjoyed farming and gardening for the next 30 years.

Paul proudly serviced his country 1958-1962 in the United States Marine Corps.

He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Kay Wallace, Diana Lynn (Tony) Roach, Deidra Sue Martin, and son, John Paul Martin, and a slew of grandchildren: Joshua, Christopher, Harrison, Anthony (Roxanne) and Kelsey (Christopher); great grandchildren: Laney, Brailey, Layton, Axton, Ryker, Zane, Peter, Vivian, Guinevere, Forrest and Sawyer.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Abbyshire Place for their dedication and loving care.

A graveside service and burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at Concord Cemetery in Henderson, WV, with military rites given by the United States Marine Honor Guard and Stewart-Johnson VFW Post #9926 of Mason, WV.
