Peggy Maureen Nelson

Peggy Maureen (Sullivan) Nelson, 86, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Southern Ohio Medical Center, Portsmouth, OH, following a brief illness.

She was born January 3, 1939, in Charleston, WV, a daughter of the late Charles and Frances Sullivan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Becky Cradock, Sandy George, and one brother, Dukie Sullivan.

Peggy was a 1957 graduate of DuPont High School and retired from the Mason County Board of Education as a Teacher's Aide with over 35 years of faithful service. She attended Faith Gospel Church in Gallipolis Ferry and most recently Waits Baptist Church in Portsmouth, OH. Peggy loved spending time family and friends and going to church.

Left to cherish her wonderful memory include her children, Scott Nelson and his wife, Angie of Point Pleasant, Robin Porter and her husband, Mike of Ona, WV, Amy Frazie and her husband, Dino of Minford, OH; grandchildren, Drew Porter, Trent (Felicity) Porter, Shaya Frazie, Samuel (Kimber) Frazie; great granddaughter, Sunday Frazie and sister, Brenda White of Surfside, SC

A celebration of Peggys life will be 12 p.m., Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Faith Gospel Church, Gallipolis Ferry, WV, with Pastor Brent Saxton officiating. Friends are welcome to visit with the family one hour prior to the service on Saturday, at the church.
