Raymond Franklin Wray

Raymond Franklin Wray, 75, of Apple Grove, died Monday, August 15, 2011 at Pleasant Valley Hospital. He was born January 31, 1936, in Ashton, a son of the late John Carl Wray and Clara Frances (Hughes) Wray. He was a welder by trade with Yeager Machine. He honorably served his country with the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Dale Wray. He is survived by his wife, Carla Marie (Black) Wray of Apple Grove; four daughters, Mary Ann Bonecutter (Jimmy) of Point Pleasant, Caroline Landers of Point Pleasant, Stephanie Cornell (Rodney) of Point Plesant, Virginia Craft (Clinton) of Letart; two sons, Charles Dunn (Angel) of Henderson and Steve Dunn of Henderson; two brothers, Charles Wesley Wray of Apple Grove and Melvin A. Wray of Apple Grove; five sisters, Goldie Denny of Southside, Pauline Dunn (Norman) of Columbus, OH, Evelyn Coble of Columbus, OH, Sandy Griffith (Bobby) of Apple Grove and Deloris Hutton (Lester) of Marion, VA; seventeen grandchildren and three great grandchildren; two special nieces, Amber Black and Michelle Denny; one special baby boy, Pugsly. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the Barton Chapel Church in Apple Grove with Rev. Thurman Smith and Rev. Richard Black officiating. Burial will follow in the Ball's Chapel Cemetery in Ashton, where Military Graveside Rites will be given by the West Virginia Honor Guard and American Legion Post No. 23 of Point Pleasant. Visitation will be from 11a.m.-1p.m., Wednesday at the church. Services are under the direction of Wilcoxen Funeral Home.
