Reta Kay Wheeler

Reta Kay Wheeler, 89, of Gallipolis, OH, passed away Friday, September 26, 2025, at Arbors of Gallipolis.

She was born March 6, 1936, in Leon, WV, a daughter of the late Rev. John Paul and Bernice (Shinn) Graham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Wayne Byer; second husband, Jack Wheeler; sons, Roger Shane Byer, and Gregory Allen Byer.

Reta was 1954 graduate of Point Pleasant High School and a member of New Hope Bible Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Teresa A. Byer, Pamela D. Pickens, John R. Byer, all of Point Pleasant, WV; sister, Patti Keefer of Leon; brother, Paul N. and wife Dr. Nancy Graham of Richmond, KY; 11 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a special friend, Eve Mahone of Point Pleasant, WV.

Service will be 1 p.m., Monday, September 29, 2025, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, WV, with Pastor Joe Nott officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens, Point Pleasant, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., Sunday, September 28, 2025, at the funeral home.
