The Lord lovingly called home our beloved “Pappy,” Robert Allen “Bob” Pauley, on Friday, October 16, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family in his home.
Born on March 29, 1948, in Charleston, West Virginia, Bob was the son of the late Clifford and Nellie Mae (Powell) Pauley. He was a 1966 graduate of Point Pleasant High School and proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force. Throughout his working years, Bob was employed by Goodyear and Shell Chemical, retiring as an Area Manager.
On May 11, 1974, Bob married the love of his life, Roberta Jean (Legg) Pauley. Although their love story began after knowing one another for only a few short months, it grew into a beautiful marriage spanning more than 52 years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, cherished memories, and, most importantly, family.
Above all else, Bob was a devoted family man. Nothing brought him greater happiness than being surrounded by those he loved. He cherished every moment spent with his family, whether sharing stories, enjoying simple moments together, or creating memories that will last a lifetime. Bob also had a love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. These were among the simple pleasures in life that brought him happiness. To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was affectionately known as “Pappy,” a title he wore with tremendous pride and love.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Roberta Jean Pauley; two daughters, Julie (Brent) Fellure and Katie Neal, both of Gallipolis Ferry; four grandchildren, Colby (Amanda) Fellure, Molly (Brandon) Mattox, Lily Neal, and Anna Kate Neal; and his precious great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Lainey Fellure, and their special gift, Avery Mattox.
He is also survived by his sisters, Debi (Steve) Nibert of Gallipolis Ferry and Tracy (Dan) Korb of Stanford, Virginia; a special cousin who was more like a brother, Nick (Rachel) Nelson; sisters-in-law, Nancy Burns, Judy Fowler, and Norma Burris; and dear friends who were considered family, Roger and Cindy Campbell. Bob also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
While his passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him, his family finds comfort in the countless memories they shared and in knowing that his love will remain with them always. His greatest legacy will not be measured by the years he lived, but by the family he loved, the lives he touched, and the precious memories he leaves behind.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at New Hope Bible Baptist Church, 107 Robinson Street, Point Pleasant, West Virginia, with Pastor Mel Mock and Pastor Dean Warner officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service.
Though we will miss him more than words can express, we are forever grateful that God blessed us with our husband, Dad, and Pappy. His love will always be a part of us, until the day we meet again.
Condolences may be shared with the family at www.wilcoxenfuneralhome.com.
Arrangements are under the care of Wilcoxen Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, WV.
