Roger Ray Oliver, 64, of Point Pleasant, died Friday, March 28, 2014, at Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation, in Point Pleasant.He was born May 12, 1949, in Chillicothe, Ohio, a son of the late Jack Oliver Sr. and Ruth Evelyn (Thompson) Oliver.Roger was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1967, served his country in the United States Army, and retired from M & G Polymers with 25 years service.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Joan; one infant brother, Bobby; and a nephew, Danny Arthur.He is survived by one daughter, Heidi (Brent) Johnson of Vinton, OH; two sons, Brandon Joshua (Linda) Oliver of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, and Jason Ray (fiancee Jessica) Oliver of Columbus, OH; and three grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Gabrielle Johnson, Piper Johnson, and Ronnie Oliver. Also surviving, are one brother and four sisters, Jack Jr. (Dixie) Oliver of Tennessee, Patricia (Ed) Dyke of Chillicothe, Anna (Eddie) Simpkins of Point Pleasant, Sandy (Clifford) Parsons of Bidwell, OH, and Wanda (Chip Kearns) Oliver of Point Pleasant; and the mother of his children, Deborah (Peggy) Oliver of Gallipolis.A funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Pastor Bob Hood officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery in Letart, WV, where military graveside rites will be given by the West Virginia Army Honor Guard and American Legion Post No. 23 of Point Pleasant.
