Ruth Madeline Woods

Ruth M. Woods, 80, of Point Pleasant, WV, went home to be with her Lord, Monday, November 24, 2014, at Pleasant Valley Hospital. She was born June 29, 1934, in Rock Creek, WV, a daughter of the late Guy Edward Cantley and Stella (Richmond) Cantley. Ruth was a member of Bellemead United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant. She was a former employee of Holzer Medical Center and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Benton, Edward, and Paul Cantley; and one sister, Ruby Eskew. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Bobby L. Woods of Point Pleasant; three daughters, Evelyn (Aaron) Weaver of Letart, Brenda (Bruce) Hussell of Imperial, MO, and Kathy (Jeff) Gardner of Point Pleasant; two sons, Edgar Woods of Morgantown, WV and Craig Woods of Point Pleasant; six grandchildren, Brandon Weaver, Jillian (George) Harris, Scott (Kristen) Hussell, Bryant Woods, Amanda Woods, and Nathan Woods; and four great grandchildren. Also surviving are five sisters, Marie Dickens, Phillis Dalton, Bonnie Williams, Nancy Terry, and Diann Proudfoot; and two brothers, Howard Cantley and Warren Cantley. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Friday, November 28, 2014, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Chip Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens, at Point Pleasant. Visitation will be two hours prior to service Friday, at the funeral home.
