Sharen Gale Givens

Sharen Gale Givens, 70, of Point Pleasant, died Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, in Huntington, WV. She was born November 9, 1943, in Clarksburg, WV, a daughter of the late Thurman Franklin Givens and Dorothy Charlene (McKinney) Givens. Sharen was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church of Point Pleasant, under the leadership of the late Pastor Bill Banks. She had worked for 30 years, as a secretary for State Farm Insurance. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Thurman Givens. She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Jay) Sheline, of Point Pleasant; two grandchildren, Brittany (David) McClure, of Proctorville, OH, and Justin Sheline, of Point Pleasant; and one great grandson, Blake McClure, of Proctorville. Also, surviving are two sisters, Karen (Nelson) Hyre, of Punta Gorda, FL, and Dianna (Tim Harper) King, of St. Petersburg, FL; a brother-in-law, Charles "Buck" King, of St. Petersburg; and five nephews, Mark Hyre, David Hyre, Rodney Hyre, Jeffrey King, and Jason King. A funeral service will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home, in Point Pleasant. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery in Letart, WV.
