Sibyl Arlee Martin

Sibyl A. Martin, 91, of Apple Grove, WV, died Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born June 6, 1923, in Ashton, WV, a daughter of the late Harvey Samuel Hudson Sr. and Maude Francis (Mayse) Hudson. Sibyl was a member of Glenwood Church of Christ, at Glenwood, WV. She had worked for Owens Illinois Glass Company for 22 years and was a member of American Legion Post No. 23 Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Judy Payne; a brother, Harvey S. Hudson Jr.; and three sisters, Stella Crist, and twins Ruby Brown and Faye Hudson. She is survived by sons, Gary D. Payne, Jackie (Janet) Payne, and Ronnie (Sharon) Payne all of Apple Grove; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Karen Bowman, Sandra Winkler, and Kim Finley. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Minister Ernie Bowser officiating.
