Teddy Rose Rainey, 80, of Gallipolis Ferry, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at Pleasant Valley Hospital. She was born November 23, 1933, in Gallipolis Ferry, a daughter of the late Harry Theodore "Ted" Meaige and Ida Bell (Pierson) Meaige. Teddy was a homemaker and had worked at the Mohr's Store in Gallipolis Ferry. She was a lifetime member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Gallipolis Ferry and a Point Pleasant High School graduate, Class of 1951. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest "Jake" William Rainey Sr.; a son, Teddy "T.G." Rainey; three brothers, Leo Meaige, Richard Bell Meaige and Terry Stevens; two sisters, Nannie Wyman and Barbara Jean Bell; and Sterlie and Charlotte Stevens and Willie and Lula Neal who raised her. She is survived by her children, Earnest "Bill" (Penny) Rainey of Gallipolis Ferry, Cynthia Ann (Roy) Myers of Gallipolis Ferry, Stephen Scott (Colleen) Rainey of Gallipolis Ferry, Susan Star Annette Rainey of Gallipolis Ferry, and Scarlett Rose (Aaron) Enos of Point Pleasant; a daughter-in-law, Debra Rainey of Gallipolis Ferry; ten grandchildren, Jessica Rainey, Kacee Rainey, Jacob Rainey, Jamie Rainey, Zoe Enos, Lisa Myers Lucas, Tiffany Davis, Stacy Warden, Jennifer Warden, and Amethyst Taylor; and several great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond (Joan) Bell and Robert "Pee Wee" Bell of Steubenville, OH and Nancy Stevens of Point Pleasant; two sisters, Daisy Schoeck of Boynton Beach, FL and Brenda (Mark) Wright of Gallipolis Ferry; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 18, 2014, at Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Gallipolis Ferry, with Rev. Ronald Long and Rev. Joe Hammack officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m., at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant. Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Rainey, Jamie Rainey, Mark Wright, Roger Stevens, Carl Kinnard, AJ Wright and honorary pallbearer, Aaron Enos.
